Christian spouses are living members of the Church, they belong to the priestly people within which they receive their own gift and carry out a task that arises from Baptism and is specified by the quasi consecration effected by the sacrament of Marriage. They exercise the common priesthood of the faithful first of all when they celebrate the sacrament of Marriage, and then throughout the whole family life: in fact, Christ remains with the spouses and consecrates them to offer their daily life to the Father. In the family, praise to God takes the characteristic form of faithful and fruitful love which, while respecting personal freedom, makes the spouses live only one life (una caro) and offer the Church and the world an experience of communion through which the love of God makes itself present in an effective way.
