Peer Review
1. The submitted contributions undergo a preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Board to assess their scientific relevance and their full compliance with the criteria required by Annales theologici.
2. Contributions deemed suitable —intended for the Status Quaestionis, Study, and Note sections— are subsequently subjected to a double-blind peer review process. The outcome of this process will be communicated within 90 days of submission. Only those contributions that fully comply with the specified requirements will be admitted to the peer review process.
If a contribution is not accepted for peer review, the author will be notified within 30 days of submission.
3. Reviewers (referees) are selected by the Editorial Board from among scholars of recognized expertise. Anonymity, independence of judgment, and absence of conflicts of interest are ensured, in accordance with the Annales theologici Code of Ethics.
4. The reviewers’ overall evaluation will be briefly communicated to the author and may result in one of the following outcomes:
-
Publishable without particular observations, or with only minor corrections
-
Publishable, provided that the changes explicitly requested by the reviewers are made
-
Not publishable, as it does not meet the Journal’s standards
5. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request a reduction in length or further modifications to the contributions, depending on the requirements of the section to which they are submitted.
Please note that the peer review process is suspended during the month of August.
