This study explores the Declaration Dignitas infinita, presenting a Christian framework for human dignity within pluralistic societies. By distinguishing between intrinsic, ontological dignity and its moral expression, the analysis traces this value back to the “Imago Dei” and the mystery of Christ. It identifies the “conscience” (or heart) as the vital center where human stature is either expanded or diminished through moral choices. Additionally, human development is viewed as constitutively relational, specifically through the lenses of filiation and parenthood. Ultimately, the text argues that legal systems must respect the objective requirements of conscience to effectively safeguard human dignity and the common good.
