Abstract

The promise of eternal life that permeates all religions and that, despite secularization, continues to be reflected in contemporary culture is manifested in many films today. Here we present some philosophical and spiritual lines that articulate this desire for immortality, noting that, in most cases, the desire to love and be loved is what gives meaning to the desire for an ever-happy eternity. This vision is also confronted with nihilistic or agnostic approaches, at the same time other approaches such as reincarnation or the multiverse that question the Christian horizon are becoming fashionable.
