About the Journal

«Annales theologici» is an international journal of theology, founded in 1987 by the School of Theology of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Rome). It aims to provide a distinguished forum for research and dialogue, remaining faithful to Revelation while engaging with the questions of contemporary culture through a transdisciplinary dialogue between faith and reason. The journal seeks to deepen both the intellectual and anthropological dimensions of faith, upholding scientific rigor in the pursuit of truth. Central to its reflection is the mystery of Christ, the enduring foundation for the transformation of human beings and the world, with an awareness of theology’s ecclesial character as knowledge lived within the communion of the Church. The journal embraces Pope Leo XIII’s vision for universities: to form “minds with critical thinking skills, hearts of faith, and citizens committed to the common good”.

«Annales theologici» is published twice a year.  All published articles are peer-reviewed using a double blind  process. Articles are freely available.

All the contents of the journal are archived on the digital archiving structure of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, for which redundant backup procedures are activated and distributed in different locations.
